ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif departed for Turkey Friday morning to exchange views with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on the situation relating to Yemen.
This was agreed during the prime minister’s telephonic conversation with President Erdogan on Tuesday (March 31).
Given the excellent relations between Pakistan and Turkey and the personal rapport between the leadership of the two countries, Prime Minister Sharif and President Erdogan would also discuss how the two countries could be helpful in addressing the issue.
PM Nawaz Sharif will also meet with Turkish Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoglu during the trip.
Before departing for Turkey, the premier reiterated that all decision over the issue would be made according to aspiration and expectations of the people of Pakistan.
He has also called a joint session of the parliament on April 6 (Monday), in which the parliamentary parties would be briefed about the whole conflict and what expectations Saudi government has attached with Pakistan.
